Now I have some smaller works that may or may not be used as a triptych; more non-objective work making marks.
Wow! I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new acrylic inks; I am always interested in trying new things, and I just happened to read about these last week. I put some ink on top of a painting I was working on, and I really like working with these inks. I can't wait to do some more.
Continuing with my grid series, this one is much like the last one. It was painted in the same fashion, putting lots of colors and marks down, then putting a grid on and covering up some areas. I covered up more areas this time to give more places of rest.
This is a painting from the same series I have been working on; this one has less definition of space and more freedom of marks merging into each other. I am still seeing landscapes.
I have been away on vacation for over a week with no painting or drawing. It is so good to get home and back to the studio. Here is a triptych that I did last year; I am going to work on some more like this.
I have been painting for many years in several different media and have won awards in juried shows and had one-woman and small group shows. The learning aspect of painting has been a great joy and driving force for me. For the past few years I have become interested in abstract work and have been studying how to understand abstract work and how to do it.
