When working in a series, which is what I most often do, it is hard to think of names for the paintings. Usually I try to use a name or title that reminds me of the artwork; but in a series, I am doing a number of works that are similar in appearance and meaning. So, I tend to name them by "Series Name #1" or such as that. Sometimes I have even used the date painted(finished) as a title. I wonder if there is a better way of thinking of titles for paintings!
A friend gave me some mesh wire and wondered what I might create with it. I made this small collage with it and some scraps of paper including a piece of used paper palette. Other than cutting my fingers more than once on the wire, I really enjoyed putting together the collage. I still have lots of papers etc left from years ago that I may try up-cycling.
I have been painting for many years in several different media and have won awards in juried shows and had one-woman and small group shows. The learning aspect of painting has been a great joy and driving force for me. For the past few years I have become interested in abstract work and have been studying how to understand abstract work and how to do it.
